The World Wide Melting Pot

Share
The growth of the Internet in the past decade has been phenomenal. The Internet is a huge melting pot of information, culture, and entertainment - a giant bulletin board for the world. There is no better tool for research and study.

The Internet has developed under the fundamental principles of the open source movement allowing everyone to express their ideas and opinions and post them quickly and easily. More feedback equals better solutions. Human minds as a collective unit are both powerful and efficient. This concept holds true for any aspect of our lives both personal and professional.

As with any popular communication medium, the Internet has been and will continue to be exploited. Where the people congregate, the salesmen will follow as will the criminals. The virtual world of the Internet reflects the real world in that only the strong will survive. Web sites come and go daily and rogue viruses, phishing scams, and over monetization will surely drive the weak-hearted away. Will people someday abandon the Internet the way some have abandoned other heavily monetized mediums such as television? Surely. The Internet, however, is still young and growing and just like the real world, you must adapt and overcome.

Explore the Internet and you will learn it's true value which far exceeds sending email and doing comparison shopping. Have a problem or question on your mind? Type it into Google and be amazed at how easy the solution presents itself. Need a new software solution? Do a search and be amazed that there's a free option out there just waiting for download. The benefits the Internet offers far outweigh the risks. Modern technology is not an evil thing, it just takes patience and an open mind to understand. Roll with the changes or get flattened.
